  • Buyer (Permanent)

    As part of our continuing investment in people, Amscreen is currently recruiting for the exciting vacancy of a Buyer as part of the Procurement team reporting to the Procurement Manager with the key purpose of the role to demonstrate a good knowledge for the procurement and specification of raw materials and propriety items used in a fast-paced electronics/engineering environment.

    This role is full-time office based.

     

    Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities include:

    • Supporting the Procurement Manager in line with Amscreen’s Annual purchasing strategy
    • Managing commodities in line with MRP and sourcing / buying to support business requirements
    • Active involvement in cross-functional teams to source special customer requirements to ensure the supplier can meet the expectations of the customer
    • Purchasing of materials and services
    • Maintaining accurate system data for suppliers, lead time, pricing, due dates, batch sizes and cost price field for new items.
    • Building and developing good supplier relationships
    • Pro-actively expediting the timely delivery in full to suit business requirements. Ensure everything possible is done to alleviate and overcome problematic due dates.
    • Attend weekly production meetings to provide relevant updates as soon as possible for any parts which cannot meet business time frames.
    • Involvement in monthly KPI verification of results and achievements.
    • Adhering to stated policies and procedures relating to purchasing, quality management and health & safety.

     

    The successful applicant will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience within an Engineering Purchasing / Supply Chain environment ideally with an Electronics / Engineering background and good knowledge of Microsoft Office including being Excel proficient.

    Experience in MRP / ERP systems is essential.

    We are looking for an individual with a good knowledge of the procurement and specification of raw materials and propriety items who possesses excellent communication skills both verbal and written to all levels within the business.  The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously,  be a team player and equally be results driven are key attributes.

    It is is desirable f you are CIPS Qualified or studying towards.

  • Project Manager (Permanent)

    Amscreen is continuing to invest in its people and processes and is currently recruiting for the exciting vacancy of Project Manager which is part of the NPI & Projects team responsible for managing Project activities and driving the project management framework for the end-to-end delivery of projects in a timely manner, and ensuring delivery follows the Amscreen governance process.

    This role is permanent and full-time office based.

     

    Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities include:

    • Full Project Life Cycle Project Management (Project Recover, NPI, NPD, ECR).
    • Interpreting and understanding key deliverables, and communicating these to the team.
    • Working within the Amscreen Project Framework for product development.
    • Ensuring discipline to project processes are followed and correct authorisation is applied.
    • Managing full project life cycle for product development and continuous improvement.
    • Acting as the project authority and driving the delivery of projects.

  • Software Developer (Permanent)

    As part of our continuing expansion and investment in people, Amscreen is currently recruiting for the vacancy of a Software Developer within our Software Development team reporting to the CTO.

    This role will focus on the development of new products and continuous improvement of the existing product portfolio. Working with the Engineering team and Project management teams, you will be instrumental in developing the next generation of software solutions for our Amscreen products.

    The role is full-time on site.

     

    Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities include:

    • Develop and maintain software solutions (Web Applications & Worker Services)
    • Write clean, scalable, and efficient code following best practices and standards
    • Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
    • Participate in the full software development lifecycle (Design, Implementation, Test, Release)
    • Create and maintain technical documentation
    • Follow sprint planning activities across multiple product workstreams

  • Senior Test Engineer (Permanent)

    As part of our continuing expansion and investment in people, Amscreen is currently recruiting for the vacancy of a Senior Test Engineer within our Manufacturing Engineering team reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

    The key focus of this role is on Manufacturing Test Hardware for PCBA’s, sub-assemblies, modules and final assemblies. This role also involves the support of existing manufacturing test equipment as well as the design and production of new test solutions.

    The role is full-time on site.

     

    Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities include:

    • Produce manufacturing test strategies for PCBA, Module and Final assemblies
    • Provide test specifications to support new products, modules and assemblies
    • Design appropriate test fixtures and equipment for PCBA, sub-assemblies, modules and final assembly
    • Support existing test equipment both on-site and with suppliers
    • Specify parts, assemble, validate and maintain manufacturing test equipment
    • A close relationship with design engineering team is required to direct design for manufacture / test
    • Support legacy software tools and databases
    • Assist with prototype builds and NPI, feedback design for assembly / test issues to the engineering design team
    • Provide support for manufacturing test, assist in diagnostics and failure analysis
    • Fault analysis to component level
    • Data analysis to identify fault trends and prioritise corrective actions
    • Identify test escapes and implement fixes
    • Provide work instructions to support product test and configuration

     

    What are we looking for in a successful candidate?

    You must be proficient at providing appropriate documentation such as detailed test specifications and work instructions.  You will have the opportunity to work with a cross functional team of engineers, suppliers and customers requiring strong communication skills and a good understanding of manufacturing processes.

    With 3-5 years in a similar manufacturing test engineering role, you will have experience of electronic test and automated test systems.

    You must have excellent IT productivity tool knowledge (MS Office tools, Excel, Word etc), good written and communication skills and a demonstrable understanding of electronic principles with experience of debugging electronic circuits down to component level.

    Additionally, a knowledge and experience of LabView is an advantage, core coding skills (i.e. Python, XML, C#, C++), electronics CAD systems and Mechanical CAD is desirable with the  ability to demonstrate problem solving and data analysis skills.

    Lean and six sigma training is desirable.

    You will be self-motivated and able to work alone or in a team environment

    We are looking for someone qualified at GCSE level in Maths and Physics and a Technical Degree (Mathematics, Physics, Electronics, Computer Science).

  • Quality Manager (Permanent)

    As part of our continuing investment in people, Amscreen is currently recruiting for the exciting vacancy of a Quality Manager which is part of the Manufacturing team reporting to the Manufacturing Director with the role purpose to ensure that the quality control systems continually develop in line with the needs of Amscreen to meet the needs of its stakeholders, inclusive of customer base.  The role will ensure that the design intent is met by reviewing engineering and manufacturing specifications, monitoring materials for any defects and resolving quality issues with the supply base.

    Additionally within the scope of responsibilities, you will also ensure that a knowledge of abilities is developed and retained at each of the core suppliers to ensure Amscreen’s design processes are fully aware of any constraints and will also compile, feedback and work with each supplier to address ongoing quality issues.

    This role is full-time office based with one direct report currently as part of the team structure.

     

    Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities include:

    • Developing and implementing quality control Systems and Standards such as ISO9000 and ISO14000
    • Directing and coordinating the company’s quality control system
    • Defining and developing a standard suite of tools for Root Cause Analysis and Problem solving
    • Developing a 3yr rolling internal Audit plan to meet the needs of the business and its commitments to all applicable standards
    • Develop the internal audit program to ensure lessons learnt are implemented
    • Ensuring that all products delivered meet the design intent and quality levels required
    • Working with the development departments and be a key contributor to the product delivery process, ensuring manufacturing aspects within the supply chain are considered at an early stage and pulling new products through to manufacture
    • Working with the design and procurement functions in researching, sourcing, and assessing the best vendors to supply the necessary products
    • Visiting vendor facilities and observing the manufacturing environment to review and assess their procedures
    • Performing regular quality control audits to ensure vendors continue to work in compliance with company and federal standards
    • Reviewing incoming supplies and products from vendors to check for defects and ensure quality
    • Conducting tests and assessments on products to identify quality issues
    • Maintaining detailed reports on supplier quality, including defect rates and areas that result in flaws
    • Providing technical advice and guidance to suppliers to reduce defect rates
    • Serving as a liaison between Amscreen senior management and the vendors to identify quality issues and come up with solutions
    • Conducting vendor assessment and surveillance audits at the appropriate frequency

     

    The successful applicant will have an in-depth knowledge base of ISO900 and 14000, including implementation and maintenance of either of both along with knowledge and experience of  Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Lean Manufacturing techniques. Six Sigma is desirable

    You will possess excellent problem-solving skills and a working knowledge of standard Microsoft tools.  With a high level of enthusiasm and strong desire to learn and improve, you will also be a strong team player with a flexible approach to work and willingness to travel as needed (with a full driving licence) required.

    In terms of qualifications, a relevant Quality Management, Manufacturing or Engineering related degree is preferred or HND, BTEC Professional Level 5 Qualification, equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualification or equivalent Electronics Degree.

  • Head of Production (Permanent)

    As part of our continuing investment in people, Amscreen is currently recruiting for the exciting vacancy of Head of Production which is part of the Manufacturing team reporting to the Manufacturing Director with the role purpose to ensure that the production operations develops in line with Amscreen needs and subsequently the requirements of its stakeholders inclusive of the customer base.  The role will ensure that the design intent is met by reviewing engineering and manufacturing specifications monitoring all processes for any defects and resolving quality issues.

    This role is full-time office based with two direct reports as part of the team structure.

     

    Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities include:

    • Production of all Amscreen products to the required quality levels and customer deadlines
    • Development of and execution of the overall production plan
    • Development of staff training to ensure high levels of competence are maintained throughout the production team
    • Management and ownership of stock to ensure the highest levels of stock accuracy via Cycle counting, stock takes and BOM accuracy for example.
    • Manage Change of product requirements through participation in the change note process and implementation of change.
    • Development and execution of the production strategy to ensure continuous improvement and the needs of the business is met over time.
    • Work closely with the design functions to ensure product manufacturability meets the desired quality levels and manufacturability requirements as defined in the Production Strategy.
    • Ensure production test are in place where applicable utilising suitable technologies
    • Provision of regular reports on performance to plan to the snr management team.
    • Ensure H&S is at the forefront of the operations within Production
    • Member of the H&S and Quality management teams

  • Project Engineer (Permanent)

    Amscreen is continuing to invest in its people and processes and is currently recruiting for the exciting vacancy of Project Engineer which is part of the NPI & Projects team with a primary focus in cross functional leadership and support within Engineering and the New Product Introduction (NPI) Team.

    This role is permanent and full-time office based.

    Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities include:

    • Technical cross functional core team leader within Projects.
    • Facilitate and drive coordination of technical deliverables across teams including Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing and Procurement.
    • Lead the planning, execution and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they meet quality, time and cost constraints.
    • Perform risk assessments (e.g. DFMEA, PFMEA) to identify potential technical obstacles and devise mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
    • Working with the design function to take data required for the production of development units and prototypes (design data, BoMs etc), ensure that is fit for purpose and issue it for loading into data systems (ERP).
    • To ensure any Project/product data is presented in a manner that can be easily brought into ERP/MRP
    • Progress the materials required for development builds and working with the procurement function ensure parts and materials are in place for development and prototype builds.
    • Lead the development builds, overcoming and logging issues that arise for inclusion in subsequent development cycles.
    • Support the Engineering Manager to create suitable product test programmes, ensuring they are carried out, and produce clear reports.
    • Organise and follow through on external testing and approvals
    • Work with manufacturing to organise the data for manufacturing use and assist in creating manufacturing solutions for full production
    • Produce clear reporting on status of activities and test results
    • Process ECR and concessions to ensure product changes are managed and implemented.
    • Ensure that engineering projects are disciplined in their approach to all Amscreen systems and processes (E.g. H&S, Quality, Legal, Finance)

     

    The successful applicant will have the following experience:

    • Strong technical knowledge of engineered products and manufacturing in some capacity, design and development, manufacturing, or test and approval (Mechanical,
    • Experience in leading complex engineering projects or has held technical leadership roles within a Project Environment, from conception to completion.
    • Background in coordinating multidisciplinary technical teams, ensuring project milestones are met within budget and time constraints.
    • Familiar with project management tools and methodologies (Waterfall, Scrum), as well as participation in relevant training programs.
    • Experience in risk management, quality control, and stakeholder communication.
    • Track record of involvement in driving introduction of new engineered products, leading and motivating designers, and technicians.
    • Thorough understanding of Bill of Materials and their management.
    • Capable of understanding technical data (3d/2d Cad data, schematics, test reports etc etc)
    • Although not necessarily experienced in the exact systems Amscreen utilises to be familiar with general company materials and resource planning.
    • Design and Process FMEA.
    • Articulate, disciplined and capable of consistently maintaining a file, process or report.

     

    We are looking for an individual with the ability to create and lead high performing teams alongside core skills such as technical problem solving and risk management.

    You will have the ability to engage with senior stakeholders and project manage along with the capability of creating electronic workflows and documenting processes.

    A demonstrable process focussed approach and high level of accuracy and attention to detail, you will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, very good Excel skills, capable of navigating large files and analysing data using vlookup, pivot tables, formulas etc and documentation configuration management.

    You will also have good general office 365 skills, capable of using tasks, teams and sharepoint to manage data through a project

    In terms of qualification, we are looking for someone with an Engineering Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline or relevant experience or equally a Foundation project management qualifications or equivalent experience.
